Virot is the latest restaurant by
famed chef Didier Virot. Having garnered rave reviews at such famous New York mainstays as Jo-Jo's and Vong, Chef Virot creates sumptuous innovative french cuisine in the newly redesigned Dylan Hotel (formerly The Chemists Club). Soaring ceilings, classic details and modern adornments by renowned architect Jeffrey Beirs makes for an unforgettable dining experience.

Hess Design Works created the logo, stationary package, menus, signage, invitations and company identity for this progressive, sophisticated restaurant in New York City's newest hot spot; The Dylan Hotel.
Using special metallic coated paper stock and unusual ribbed insert paper, the menus are crisp and dazzling and have a mother of pearl luster. Yet they remain very cost effective due to protective coatings which make them cleanable and durable. The inserts can be printed in-house daily and look and feel expensive and elegant.

The business card (above) utilizes the same iridescent, mother-of-pearl paper stock as the menus to unify the overall experience of Virot.

The type treatment for the menus (left) as well as for all other materials was carefully designed to compliment Chef Virot's vision for his namesake eatery. A computer set-up was produced so anyone could reproduce the style with accuracy and ease.

Hess Design Works
created the press kit pocket folder (right and far right) using the same mother-of-pearl paper stock as other materials for strong brand identification. The interior is a metalic cooper tone to play off the rich woods in the restaurant and the angled cuts mirror the "V" shape of the Chef's initial.
